Save Money Without Leaving Town
When you are trying to pay off debt, going out of town on an expensive vacation is a luxury that you just can’t afford.
However, this doesn’t mean that you are doomed to a life of working and skulking around the house with nothing to do.
Now is the time to make a list of all the attractions and events that your town has that you have wanted to visit but never have, or haven’t gone to in years.
Museums, sporting events, local attractions, parks, restaurants, and so on…list them all. Then, do some research and find out when they have their reduced-price times.
Museums almost always have a free or reduced price day once a week or once a month.
So do many other local attractions.
Restaurants have happy hours on specific days and at specific times.
A local spa may sound like an expensive splurge, but when you compare it to the cost of a week long vacation out of town, it’s a bargain.
And if you really are yearning to get away from home…have you looked into local bed and breakfasts? A couple of days of spending time in a bed and breakfast, with someone else catering to you, is much cheaper than the cost of airfare and a hotel in a big, expensive tourist town.
